Kenna Turner West is no stranger to Nashville’s world famous Music Row. Daughter-in-law to the late Country Music Hall of Fame artist Dottie West, the now full-time Curb/Word Entertainment pro songwriter has penned at least 1,000 songs over the last two decades and is a six-time BMI Award winner, among many other awards and nominations.
“Through music and lyrics,” she says, “my friends and I somehow get to touch the world, if you will, from a small writer’s room in Tennessee. It’s very humbling to think about.”
Always a crowd favorite at the Song Revolution Workshop, Kenna brings her high energy to the coaching room as she works with workshop attendees and to the stage as a featured clinician. Quick to share that she writes melodies on the keyboard with one finger or simple three-finger chords, Kenna demonstrates that you don’t have to be an advanced musician to be a powerful songwriter.
“Kenna is one of the most prolific and versatile songwriters in Nashville,” shares John Chisum, NCS President. “I learn something new from her every time she teaches for us and I can’t wait to share her with our attendees this time!”
You can read Kenna’s bio HERE and connect with her in person at the Song Revolution Workshop March 26th – 28th.
